How do people that live in Caravans & Canal Boats eat?
I would love to live in a caravan or on a canal boat but all the research i have done had never explain about normal living.. None of the people in the documentaries i’ve watched work..
I know if you live on a caravan on your own land then you can grow food and have a small holding but how is living on a canal boat or any other liveaboard able to eat?

When you live on a narrow boat or a cruiser on the canal system, you are never very far from shops.
You just moor your boat, walk along the tow path, often up steps to a bridge on a road and buy supplies from supermarkets, just like people do who live in the Town where you have stopped.
Some livaboards, grow small items like tomatoes in pots or lettuces in troughs on top of their boat so that they have pickable salads; most will have pots of herbs.
I have a narrowboat but don’t live aboard and the longest trips I do are about 4 weeks in duration; I take a supply of tinned, packeted and fresh food (we do have a 12v fridge on board), sometimes I bake bread – we have a gas cooker, a toaster, a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a sandwich maker – just like a real house really, except that when we get fed up with neighbours we can “pull up anchor” and move somewhere else.
People who live on their boats and don’t have a permanent mooring are called “continuous cruisers”
